Calculators for every trade
Position size, pip value, risk to reward, margin, compounding and drawdown recovery, with your balance filled in.
Find the exact lot size for your risk on forex pairs, gold, indices and crypto, so a stop loss costs what you planned and nothing more.
Risk amount = balance × risk % ÷ 100 Pip value per lot = contract size × pip size × conversion rate Lots = risk amount ÷ (stop distance × pip value per lot)
A $10,000 account risking 1% risks $100. On EURUSD with a 25-pip stop, one lot moves $10 per pip, so the stop costs $250 per lot. $100 ÷ $250 = 0.40 lots.
Many traders risk between 0.5% and 2% of the account per trade. Lower risk means smaller drawdowns during losing streaks and more time to learn.
When the instrument is priced in a currency other than your account currency, the pip value has to be converted. Enter the current price of the pair shown and the calculator does the rest. No live prices are fetched.
Brokers set their own contract sizes, especially for indices, metals and crypto. Edit the contract size and pip size fields to match your broker's specification.
Subtract the stop loss price from the entry price and divide by the pip size: 0.0001 for most forex pairs, 0.01 for yen pairs. For gold, indices and crypto use the point size shown in the calculator.
