How can we help?
Clear answers about JammalFX: your account, your plan, your data and every tool on the platform.
Getting started
16What is JammalFX?
JammalFX is a trading journal and performance platform. You record your trades (or import them), and it shows you your real results: win rate, profit factor, drawdown, expectancy, what works by symbol, session and strategy, and whether you are following your own rules. It also includes a playbook for your strategies, discipline tools, a prop challenge tracker, risk calculators, an academy and a community of traders.
Who is JammalFX for?
For anyone who trades and wants to improve with data instead of memory: forex, metals, indices, futures, stocks and crypto traders, traders working on prop firm evaluations, and coaches or small teams who review trades together. It works for discretionary and rule-based trading alike.
Which markets does it support?
Forex, metals, indices, crypto, stocks, commodities and futures. You choose the market for each trade, and each trading account keeps its own currency.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Everything runs in your browser on desktop, tablet and phone. Create an account and you can log your first trade a minute later.
Do I have to connect my broker account?
No. You never share broker passwords or give JammalFX access to your trading account. You add trades yourself or import a statement file you download from your platform. JammalFX cannot place, change or close trades.
How do I create an account?
On the sign-in page choose “Create account” and enter your name, email and a password, or sign up in one click with Google. We then send you an email to confirm your address.
Can I sign in with Google?
Yes. With your permission we receive only your name, email address and profile picture from Google, and nothing else from your Google account.
I forgot my password. What should I do?
On the sign-in page choose “Forgot password” and enter your email. You will receive a secure link to set a new password. If you cannot find the email, check your spam folder.
I did not receive the confirmation email.
Check your spam folder first, then ask for a new email from your account. If it still does not arrive, contact support.
Where do I start after signing up?
- Add your trading account with its currency and starting balance.
- Log your recent trades, or import a statement from MT4, MT5 or a CSV file.
- Write your risk rules: risk per trade, daily loss limit and maximum trades per day.
- Review your analytics once you have a few trades.
The getting started guide walks you through each step.
How can I quickly understand how a feature works?
When you create something for the first time (an account, a trade, a strategy or a rule), you can choose “Start from scratch” or “Create a sample”. The sample is filled in so you can see how the feature works, and you can edit or delete it at any time.
What is the small info icon next to numbers and options?
You will find it next to the key numbers at the top of each feature and next to options that need explaining. Tap it to see what the number measures or what the option does, and tap outside to close it.
Does JammalFX work on my phone?
Yes. Every screen works on phone, tablet and desktop. You can also install JammalFX as an app on your home screen from the account menu → “Install the JammalFX app”, so it opens full screen without an app store.
How do I install the JammalFX app?
Open the account menu (your picture at the top of the screen) and choose “Install the JammalFX app”. You will see the steps for your device: iPhone and iPad, Android, or a desktop browser. The app is your full workspace with all your data, and it updates itself.
Is there a quick tour of the platform?
Yes. A short tour shows you around the first time you sign in, and “Complete your account” in the account menu lists the steps left to set up your journal.
How do I delete my account?
In Settings → Security choose “Delete account” and type the confirmation phrase. We recommend downloading a copy of your data first from the same screen. Deletion is permanent; we keep billing records only as long as the law requires, as described in the privacy policy.
Plans and billing
17Is there a free plan?
Yes. The Free plan has no time limit and needs no card. It includes the journal with one trading account, up to 30 trades a month, one strategy in your playbook, core analytics, the calculators, up to 5 academy courses and the community. Compare everything on the pricing page.
What does JammalFX Pro add?
Pro removes the trade limit and gives you up to 5 trading accounts, 10 strategies and 4 screenshots per trade, plus statement import, full analytics, reports, the discipline tools (rules, goals and reviews), two-factor authentication, data export and every academy course. Current prices are on the pricing page.
What does Elite add?
Everything in Pro, with unlimited accounts and strategies, 8 screenshots per trade, the prop challenge tracker, advanced reports, and Team, so a coach or a small desk can review trades together with permissions you control.
How does the free trial work?
Paid plans start with a free trial (7 days) the first time you subscribe. You may be asked for a payment method to verify it, without being charged. We email you a reminder before the trial ends, and if you cancel before then you pay nothing. The trial is available once per account.
Can I get a free trial again?
The trial is once per account. If you subscribed before (with a trial or a payment) and your plan ended, a new subscription is paid from the first day. If a renewal payment fails, “My plan” shows a “Pay now” button so you can pay with your card or another one and your plan comes back straight away.
What is the difference between monthly and yearly billing?
The features are the same. Monthly gives you full flexibility, and yearly costs less over the year. The saving is shown on the switch on the pricing page.
Can I switch between monthly and yearly?
Yes, at any time from “My plan” in the app. The difference is prorated for the remaining time, and you see the amount before you confirm.
How do I cancel?
From “My plan” in the app, in one click and with no fees. Your plan stays active until the end of the paid period and then does not renew. You can resume the renewal before it ends.
What happens to my data if my plan ends?
Nothing is deleted. Your trades, accounts, notes, screenshots and strategies stay in your account, and you move back to the Free plan limits. When you renew, every feature unlocks again with your data where you left it.
How can I pay, and is it secure?
You pay by card through an authorised payment partner that acts as the merchant of record, over an encrypted connection. JammalFX never stores your card details. You receive a confirmation email and a receipt for every payment, and the payment partner’s name may appear on your bank statement.
Why was sales tax or VAT added to my payment?
Because our payment partner is the merchant of record, it calculates and collects the sales tax or VAT that applies in your country and shows it at checkout before you pay. Your receipt lists the tax separately.
Where can I find my receipts?
In “My plan” → “Payment history” you can see every payment and download its receipt. A copy is also emailed to you after each payment.
My payment failed. What should I do?
Check the card’s balance and expiry date, then update your payment method from “My plan”. We retry the renewal automatically over the next few days and email you, and your data stays safe in the meantime.
How do I change the card I pay with?
In “My plan” choose “Update payment method” and enter the new card. It is used for your next renewal.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. You can ask for a full refund within 14 days of your first payment or of a yearly renewal, and we always refund any amount charged by mistake. The details are in the refund policy; request it from support.
Can prices change?
Prices may change in the future, but a change never applies to a period you have already paid for. We tell you the new price before your renewal, and you can cancel before it applies.
What does Team on Elite do?
Add a coach or teammates to your workspace and choose what each person can see or edit in every feature. You can change their access or remove them at any time, and their access stops immediately.
Journal and trades
11What can I record for each trade?
The account, symbol, direction (long or short), entry and exit times and prices, size, stop loss and take profit, fees and swap, the strategy you used, tags such as setup or mistake, your notes, and screenshots of the chart before and after. Only the basics are required; the rest makes your analytics more useful.
How is the R-multiple calculated?
R is the net result of a trade divided by the money you risked at entry. When you set a stop loss, the risk is calculated from the entry, the stop and the size. A trade that made twice what it risked is +2R, and a full stop-out is −1R.
Can I log a trade that is still open?
Yes. Save it as open and add the exit later. Open trades are not counted in your statistics until they are closed.
Is there a limit on the number of trades?
The Free plan includes 30 trades a month. Pro and Elite have no trade limit.
Which image formats can I upload?
JPG, PNG and WEBP up to 3 MB per image. The number of screenshots per trade depends on your plan: 1 on Free, 4 on Pro and 8 on Elite.
How should I use tags?
Keep a short, consistent list: setups (breakout, pullback), conditions (news, trend day) and mistakes (moved stop, early exit). Analytics can then show you which tags make or cost you money.
Can I import trades from MT4 or MT5?
Yes, on Pro and Elite. Upload a “Detailed statement” from MT4 or a “Report” from MT5 (saved as HTML), or any CSV file. You check the column mapping and preview the first trades before anything is saved.
Which CSV files work?
Most exports from brokers, platforms and spreadsheets. The separator and encoding are detected automatically, the columns are matched by name, and you can change the mapping before you confirm. Files can be up to 5 MB.
What happens if I import the same statement twice?
Trades that are already in the account (same account and ticket number) are skipped, so you will not get duplicates. The summary tells you how many trades were imported, skipped or had errors.
Why are my imported trade times off by a few hours?
Statements use the broker’s server time. Choose the right time zone in the import step and the times are converted to your own time zone.
What do Pro and Elite add to the journal?
No monthly trade limit, more screenshots per trade (4 on Pro, 8 on Elite) and statement import from MT4, MT5 or CSV.
Trading accounts
4Can I track several accounts, including demo and prop accounts?
Yes. Each account has its own type (live, demo or prop), broker name, currency and starting balance. The number of accounts depends on your plan: 1 on Free, 5 on Pro and unlimited on Elite.
How is my account balance calculated?
From the starting balance, plus the net result of your closed trades, plus deposits and minus withdrawals you record on the account. If it does not match your broker, check for missing trades, fees or transfers.
I trade accounts in different currencies. How are totals shown?
Each account keeps its own currency. Totals across accounts in different currencies are not converted; they are shown per currency so the numbers stay exact.
How many trading accounts can I add?
One on the Free plan, up to 5 on Pro and as many as you need on Elite. Every account keeps its own currency and balance history.
Analytics
6What does profit factor mean?
Profit factor is your gross profit divided by your gross loss. Above 1 means your winners outweigh your losers over the period; below 1 means the opposite. It is most meaningful over a large number of trades.
What is expectancy?
The average result per trade over the period, in money and in R. It combines your win rate with the size of your wins and losses, which is why a low win rate can still be profitable.
How is drawdown measured?
Maximum drawdown is the largest fall of your equity from a peak to a later low, based on closed trades in the period you select.
What is included in analytics on the Free plan?
The core metrics: net P&L, win rate, profit factor, average win and loss, and the equity curve. Pro adds the full breakdowns by symbol, session, weekday, strategy and tag, and the reports.
Do the analytics predict future results?
No. Every metric describes trades you have already taken. Past results do not guarantee future results, and nothing on the platform is investment advice.
What is in full analytics?
On Pro: breakdowns by symbol, session, weekday, strategy and tag, R-multiple distribution, streaks and the weekly and monthly reports. Elite adds advanced reports.
Reports
2What are reports?
Weekly and monthly summaries of your trading you can review, download or print, on Pro. Elite adds advanced reports that compare periods and go deeper into your risk and consistency.
Can I download or print a report?
Yes. Every report can be downloaded or printed, so you can keep it with your own records or review it with a coach.
Playbook
1What is the playbook?
A place to write down each strategy you trade: the setup, entry and exit rules, risk and a checklist. Link trades to a strategy and you can see how each one performs. Free includes 1 strategy, Pro 10 and Elite unlimited.
Discipline
3What do the discipline tools do?
On Pro you set your own rules (for example risk per trade, a daily loss limit or a maximum number of trades a day), goals for the week or month, and short reviews. Your home screen shows how you are doing against today’s rules, so breaking a rule is something you see, not something you discover later.
Can JammalFX stop me from trading when I hit my daily loss limit?
No. JammalFX is not connected to your broker and cannot block trades. It shows you clearly when a rule is reached so you can stop yourself.
Are the discipline tools on every plan?
Rules, goals and reviews are part of Pro and Elite. The playbook itself is on every plan: 1 strategy on Free, 10 on Pro and unlimited on Elite.
Prop challenges
3What is the prop challenge tracker?
On Elite you add your evaluation with its rules (profit target, daily loss limit, maximum loss, minimum trading days and time limit) and link it to the account you trade. JammalFX then shows your progress against each rule and how much room you have left.
Does it work with my prop firm?
Yes, with any firm, because you enter the rules yourself. Firms calculate some rules differently (for example on balance or on equity, or at a specific reset time), so set them exactly as your firm describes them.
Can JammalFX help me pass a challenge?
It helps you stay inside the rules and see your risk clearly, but it cannot guarantee a result. Your prop firm’s own dashboard remains the official record.
Tools and calculators
2Which calculators are included?
A position size calculator, a pip value calculator and other risk tools, available on every plan. The public versions on our site work without an account.
What is the tools library?
A curated list of tools traders use, grouped by purpose: charting, platforms, data, news and calendars, journaling and more. The tools are third-party services; their prices and policies belong to their owners, and a listing is not a recommendation to trade with anyone.
Academy
6What is the academy?
Practical courses on trading process: risk management, journaling, reviewing your trades, psychology and building a plan. You find them in “Academy” inside the app. The Free plan includes up to 5 courses, and paid plans include all of them.
Is the academy content investment advice?
No. The courses are general education about process and risk. They do not tell you what to buy or sell, and they do not promise results.
Is my progress saved?
Yes. Each lesson continues where you stopped, and a lesson is marked done after you watch most of it or click “Mark as done”. A “Continue where you left off” card appears in the academy and on your home screen.
Do I get a certificate?
Yes, for courses that include one. When you finish every lesson you receive a certificate of completion with your name, a unique number and a QR code. Download it as a PDF and share its public verification link.
Can I take notes while I learn?
Yes. Every lesson has a “My notes” tab that only you can see, and a “Resources” tab with the files and links for the lesson.
How many courses can I take?
Up to 5 courses on the Free plan, and every course on Pro and Elite. Some courses may be marked “For members” and need a paid plan.
Community
5What is the JammalFX community?
A place to share trade reviews, questions and lessons with other traders: post, comment and react, and earn points that raise your level on the leaderboard.
Can I post signals or promote paid groups?
No. Signals, trade calls presented as advice, paid group promotion, referral spam and performance claims you cannot back up are not allowed. Share your process and your reviews instead. See the acceptable use policy.
What do other members see about me?
Your name, picture and what you post. Your email address is never shown to other members, and your journal stays private unless you share a trade yourself.
How do I report a post?
Use the report button on the post or comment. Our team reviews reports confidentially and takes the right action.
How do I add a video or a poll to my post?
Under the post text there is a toolbar: image, link, video, poll and emoji. For a video, paste a YouTube or Vimeo link and it plays inside the post. A poll has two to six options, and each member has one vote they can change. A poll cannot be edited after the first vote.
Settings and notifications
7Which time zone are my trades shown in?
Times are stored in UTC and shown in the time zone you choose in Settings, so sessions and daily results match your own day.
How do notifications work?
The bell collects what matters to your trading: rules you reached, goals, prop challenge alerts, community replies and platform updates. In Settings you choose which ones you also receive by email.
Do I need to reload the page to see new notifications?
No. The bell updates by itself while you work, checking quietly about once a minute and when you come back to the page. With device notifications turned on, new ones arrive instantly.
Can I get notifications on my phone?
Yes. In Settings → Notifications turn on “Notifications on this device”. Turn it on for each device you want and switch it off at any time. On iPhone, install the app first.
Is there a dark mode?
Yes. Switch between light and dark with the moon or sun button at the top, and your browser remembers your choice.
How do I hear about new features?
New features appear in the “Updates” tab of the notification bell, and the full history is on the changelog.
Is there help inside the app?
Yes. The small help button in the bottom corner of the screen shows the questions about the feature you are using, without leaving the page.
Data and privacy
6Who can see my trades?
Only you. Your journal is private. Nothing is shared unless you post it in the community yourself, or you add team members on Elite and give them access.
Do you sell my data or use it for advertising?
No. We do not sell your data, we do not use advertising trackers, and we measure site visits ourselves without storing IP addresses.
Is my data secure?
We use encrypted connections, store passwords and sensitive keys encrypted, limit what our admin team can access, and take regular backups. We recommend a strong password and two-factor authentication.
How do I turn on two-factor authentication?
In Settings → Security, in the “Two-factor authentication” row, click “Turn on”. Scan the code with an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator or 1Password, then enter the 6-digit code. Keep the backup codes somewhere safe; they are how you sign in if you lose your phone.
Can I download a copy of my data?
Yes. In Settings → Security, in the “Download your data” row, click “Download”. You receive a full copy of your account data (trades, accounts, transactions, strategies, rules and more) in files that open in Excel or Google Sheets.
What are my rights over my data?
You can access, correct, download and delete your data, and you can do the download and the deletion yourself in Settings → Security. Details are in the privacy policy; for any other request, write to hi@jammalfx.com.
Trading and risk
4Is this investment advice?
No. JammalFX is a record-keeping and education tool. Nothing on the platform, in the academy or in the community is investment, financial or tax advice, and nothing is a recommendation to buy or sell anything. You make your own decisions and are responsible for them. Read the risk disclaimer.
Is JammalFX a broker?
No. JammalFX is not a broker, an exchange or an investment firm. We do not hold your money, execute trades, provide signals, copy trading or managed accounts.
Do you give trading signals?
No, and we never will. JammalFX helps you understand and improve your own trading; it does not tell you what to trade.
What should I know about trading risk?
Trading leveraged products such as forex, CFDs, futures and crypto carries a high risk of losing money quickly, and you can lose more than you expect. Only trade with money you can afford to lose, and make sure you understand the products you trade.
Support
4How do I contact the JammalFX team?
From the contact page by choosing the reason for your message, or by email: hi@jammalfx.com for general questions and support@jammalfx.com for technical help and billing.
How long does it take to get a reply?
We reply to support messages within 3 business days at most, and usually much sooner.
I have an idea for a feature. Where do I send it?
We would love to hear it. Send it from the contact page and choose “General”. Many features start as a member’s suggestion.
Where can I read more about improving my trading process?
The JammalFX blog has practical articles on journaling, risk management, reviewing trades and prop evaluations, and the help center explains every feature step by step.
