Getting started

Set up your trading journal in 30 minutes

A short path in the right order: from your first account to your risk rules and your first review, so every trade you take from today counts.

  1. Create your account and set your time zone

    Step 1 · 2 min

Your daily results, sessions and rules follow your own day, so the time zone comes first.

    • Sign up with your email or with Google, and confirm your email address.
    • In Settings, choose your time zone and your main currency.
    • Your home screen shows your trading day at a glance once you have trades.
    Open settings
  2. Add your trading account

    Step 2 · 2 min

Every trade belongs to an account, so balances, drawdown and prop rules are always calculated on the right money.

    • Add the account with its type (live, demo or prop), broker, currency and starting balance.
    • Record deposits and withdrawals so the balance matches your broker.
    • Add your other accounts the same way (up to 5 on Pro).
  3. Log your recent trades

    Step 3 · 5 min

Ten honest trades tell you more about your trading than a hundred you remember.

    • Add each trade: symbol, direction, entry and exit, size and stop loss.
    • Add a screenshot and one line on why you took it.
    • Tag mistakes as you go, such as “moved stop” or “early exit”.
  4. Or import your history

    Step 4 · 3 min

Months of trades in your journal in a few minutes, without typing (Pro and Elite).

    • Download a detailed statement from MT4, a report from MT5, or a CSV file.
    • In the journal choose “Import”, pick the account and upload the file.
    • Check the time zone and the column mapping, preview, then import. Duplicates are skipped.
  5. Write down your strategy

    Step 5 · 4 min

A setup you can describe is a setup you can measure, and repeat.

    • Create a strategy with its setup, entry, exit and risk rules.
    • Add a short checklist you can tick before each trade.
    • Link your trades to the strategy to compare results later.
    Open the playbook
  6. Set your risk rules

    Step 6 · 3 min

A few bad days can undo weeks of good trading. Rules decided in advance protect you from them.

    • Set your risk per trade, daily loss limit and maximum trades per day.
    • Add a goal for the week, such as “follow my plan on every trade”.
    • Check today’s rules on your home screen before you trade.
  7. Review your analytics

    Step 7 · 3 min

Find out what actually makes and costs you money: symbols, sessions, setups and mistakes.

    • Start with net P&L, win rate, profit factor and the equity curve.
    • Compare results by symbol, session, weekday and strategy.
    • Pick one thing to stop doing and one to do more of this week.
    Open analytics
  8. Track a prop challenge

    Step 8 · 3 min

Know at every moment how far you are from the target and from the daily and maximum loss limits (Elite).

    • Add the challenge with the rules exactly as your firm describes them.
    • Link it to the account you trade the evaluation on.
    • Watch the room you have left before each trade.
  9. Size your next position

    Step 9 · 1 min

The right size turns your risk rule into a number before you click buy or sell.

    • Open the position size calculator.
    • Enter your balance, risk percentage, stop distance and symbol.
    • Use the size it gives you, and log the trade afterwards.
  10. Install the app and turn on notifications

    Step 10 · 2 min

Your journal on your phone’s home screen, and an alert when you reach a rule or a challenge limit.

    • In the account menu choose “Install the JammalFX app” and follow the steps for your device.
    • In Settings → Notifications turn on “Notifications on this device”.
    • Send a test notification to check it works.
  11. Protect your account with two-factor authentication

    Step 11 · 2 min

Your trading history is personal. A second step keeps it safe even if your password leaks.

    • In Settings → Security, in the “Two-factor authentication” row, click “Turn on”.
    • Scan the code with an authenticator app and enter the 6-digit code.
    • Keep the backup codes somewhere safe.
